Cruising the Straits of Magellan

Named after the Portuguese explorer who discovered the Tierra del Fuego, the 360-mile strait isolates the archipelago from the rest of South America. Imagine yourself as the explorer's first mate as you cruise from the Atlantic to the Pacific upon the still, misty waters of this romantic route. Enjoy magnificent views from the ship's deck as you cruise through the Strait of Magellan. This majestic waterway separates the archipelago of Tierra del Fuego from mainland South America and will delight visitors with incredible snapshots of nature.

We began the day with our morning walk.  Most of the day was spent taking lots and lots of photos of the Straits (1 - 12).  But today we actually got to play a little volleyball.  Well, very little.  On Bill's advice we changed over to "Bounce Ball" (volleyball with the net lowered to tennis height).  I'm still not sure there are official rules to this, just whatever Bill has in mind.  Thanks to Henry and Debbie for hanging in there with me.  Although I still have flashbacks as we watched our ball sail over the side of the ship while Bill was heard to exclaim, "I'm Sorry Wilson!!!!!"

That evening was our 2 surprises: our penguin shirt and our surprise program, a version of "The Weakest Link" (1 - 3).  Congrats to Aebra on her win (although I think there may still be some objections over the controversial vote).

After dinner, we enjoyed a little dancing in the Constellation lounge.
