Santiago, Chile

We begin our journey in the beautiful city of Santiago.  We arrived at the Hotel Plaza San Francisco and wouldn't you know it, first thing, they don't have my name in their records!  Well, after a little convincing, and a little breakfast, I got a room, dropped off my bags and we headed out.  Checked out the church next to the hotel, before heading off on the subway (Anybody got a map?) to San Cristobal Hill for a funicular ride (1, 2) to some spectacular views (1 - 8).  Then back onto the subway, just a few blocks (1 , 2) to Constitution Square (1, 2 and a short walk back to the pedestrian mall, where we spotted some local dancers.

What would an Amazing Journeys trip be without an ice-breaker.  We got one that night as Bill and Malori introduced each of us to the group, making up the details where they didn't have any (a lot of rocket scientists).  And yes Malori, I am from New Jersey.

To finish the evening, we had dinner and a show at Los Buenos Muchachos where we tried our first Pisco Sour
