Santiago, Chile

After breakfast in the hotel, we set out to see the city of Santiago, Vino del Mar, and Valparaiso with our tour guide Jorge.  Our first stop was Central Square with the Metropolitan Cathedral.  Then back to Constitution square to continue checking out the palace (whoa, deja vu) (Furious and Thunder).  Then on our way out of town, we caught a glimpse of the train station designed by Eiffel.

On our way to Vino del Mar, we had a quick pit stop with quite an array of animal life (1 - 3).  Once we reached this quaint little town, we saw an actual Easter Island sculpture, not like the one we THOUGHT we saw in Santiago.  Next at the tourist trap, er, um, I mean local handiworks stop, we were able to admire the scenery and really began to ponder the question, "Why did the tourists cross the road?"

Finally, we reached our port of Valparaiso, checking out the Prat Monument and the local architecture (1, 2)

After checking into our cabin on Amazing Journeys Way, we ambled about the ship until our Group Orientation and dinner.  For some strange reason, right about the time we finished our coffee, all the guys at the table had the same thought:

SUPERBOWL!!!!!  (Patriots 32 Panthers 29)

Interesting to hear the broadcast in another country, more so on a cruise ship.  It was kind of like listening to "Football for Dummies" (now what that penalty means....).  But, we did miss the little half time debacle.
