Montevideo, Uruguay
The capital of Uruguay, Montevideo is a bustling cosmopolitan center with inviting open-air cafés and incredible gardens. Memorable photos are yours for the taking in the European-style squares and is on some of the continent's most glorious beaches.

Full Day to Punta Del Este

Although today's weather turned out to be "not a 1% day", we drove 85 miles to Punta del Este, one of the finest resorts in South America, gateway for the jet set.  Our first stop was Portezuelo and Punta Ballena, passing by Casapueblo, home of famous artist Carlos Paez Vilaro. The gleaming white building with its unique architecture was a favorite with us amateur photographers. (1 - 10)

The drive continued to Punta del Este where we toured the residential areas with its elegant homes such as San Rafael, Cantegril, Parque Golf and Beverly Hills. A stop will be made to visit Fundacion Ralli, a private museum of Contemporary Latin American Art housing an impressive collection of sculptures and paintings, including works by Salvador Dali.(1 - 3)

After a ride over the roller-coaster bridge to La Barra, Lunch was served at the yacht club followed by some free time for shopping.

Upon returning to the ship, we had our second lovely Friday night service (Way to go Julie!), followed by Dinner and our farewell program, including our traditional award presentations.  Shout out to Jenni and David for their heartfelt songs, and to Bill's persona-populated poetry.
