Buenos Aries, Argentina
|
|
"The Paris of the South," as it is known,
has a Theater Opera House, a cathedral and lovely parklands. You can visit the
Presidential Palace and museums near the Plaza de Mayo. Being one of the
most established Jewish Cities in the world, we explored the culture and
heritage of Jewish Buenos Aries.
|
Our day begins with a pier side pickup in a comfortable air-conditioned
motorcoach and/or van, to tour Jewish Buenos Aires. We visited various historic locations
including the bombed Israel Embassy (1 - 3),
the Holocaust Museum (which opened for us
special on Shabbat), (1 - 7)
and the Jewish Community Center (1 - 7). Sergio Kiernan a well known journalist from Pagina
12, a
very important newspaper in Argentina, provided a lecture your
group presenting an introduction to the Jewish communities of Argentina,
including
the actual socio-economic situation; We then headed off to La Boca (1
- 6), a very colorful, bizarre part of the city where we
had free time for
shopping.. We then returned to the ship to freshen up for our evening activity. Seņor Tango's in The Abasto
for dinner and a Tango Show (1 - 7)
